The main headquarters is located in Cremona, northern Italy, in the heart of the Po Valley.

It covers an area of 100,000 square meters in one of the best regions for cultivating cereals and legumes.

OUR HISTORY

  • 1954

    The Beginning

    In 1954, in Malagnino (CR), company founder Martino Rossi
    began focusing on agricultural products.
    He started a business in the trading of milk, cereals,
    seeds, crop protection products and fertilizers.

  • 1988

    A turning point

    Martino Rossi and his son Giorgio founded Cerealicola Rossi S.r.l.
    The first facilities for drying, cleaning, selection, and storage
    of raw materials were built, along with operations for crop harvesting and management.

    The first corn supply chain

    Italy’s first fully managed and controlled
    corn supply chain was established,
    covering every step from seed selection to harvesting and drying.

  • 2001

    The big leap

    The company shifted from trading agricultural products to
    producing flours and semi-finished goods
    from directly managed supply chains.
    The first mill was built and, within a few years, its grinding capacity was doubled.

    Underdrip launch

    Underdrip was launched, an innovative sub-irrigation system
    that improves water efficiency and crop productivity
    while drastically reducing the environmental impact of farming practices.

    Allergen-free production

    Soy- and gluten-based products were removed
    and production shifted to entirely gluten-free ingredients,
    ensuring they are free from allergens and GMOs.

    The legume supply chain

    Production capacity doubled and the first heat-processing plant
    for flours was established.
    A dedicated legume supply chain was developed
    to create new gluten-free ingredients rich in protein and fiber.

    A tribute to the Founder

    Cerealicola Rossi S.r.l. became MartinoRossi S.p.A., in honor of its founder.
    Production capacity at the Malagnino site and at processing plants expanded,
    with the launch of new products for international markets.

    New ingredient development

    The R&D department was strengthened
    to develop new functional ingredients.
    MartinoRossi for the Planet was launched
    in collaboration with the NGO Environomica,
    aimed at offsetting CO₂ emissions.

    Agrifuture launch

    Agrifuture was established, an experimental farm
    dedicated to developing and field-testing
    new varieties of cereals and legumes.
    A true open-air laboratory, it also serves to study
    and promote innovative and sustainable technologies for agriculture.

    Expansion into B2C

    A new packaging department was completed
    with three automated lines for B2C formats.
    Through the acquisition of Mais Corvino Srl,
    MartinoRossi became the exclusive holder of one
    of the most ancient varieties of black corn, mais corvino.

    Process internalization

    The company internalized the extraction of plant proteins
    and the production of TVP (textured vegetable proteins)
    through natural processes.
