Technological revamping of drying plants

MartinoRossi S.p.A.: innovation and sustainability in the first phase of the PNRR project

MartinoRossi S.p.A. continues with determination along its path of sustainable growth through a significant investment program במסגרת the Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza (PNRR), Mission 2 “Green Revolution and Ecological Transition,” Component 1, Investment 2.1 dedicated to the development of agri-food logistics.

The first phase of the project concerns the revamping of drying plants and corn pre-storage systems, with the aim of substantially improving the stages of receipt and management of raw materials.

Technological innovation and digitalization

The intervention included the installation of next-generation, fully airtight silos, designed to operate in a modified atmosphere through saturation with food-grade CO₂ in the absence of oxygen. This solution ensures optimal storage conditions while reducing the use of chemical substances.

The new lines are integrated with high-performance cleaning and drying systems, fully digitalized according to the Industry 4.0 paradigm. The system enables continuous and automated monitoring of the main environmental parameters (such as product and air humidity, or the internal pressure of the silos), ensuring high quality standards.

Benefits of the intervention

The adoption of these innovative technologies makes it possible to achieve significant advantages, namely:

  • Greater efficiency in drying processes
  • Significant reduction in methane consumption
  • Improved quality and safety of raw materials
  • Continuous and automated control of storage conditions

A concrete step toward sustainability

This represents a fundamental element in the company’s strategy focused on environmental sustainability and innovation. The intervention contributes to reducing environmental impact and improving energy efficiency, in line with the objectives of the PNRR and with the vision of MartinoRossi S.p.A. for an increasingly responsible, technological, and safe agri-food supply chain.
