MartinoRossi S.p.A.: food safety and sustainability in the second PNRR intervention
Within the framework of the development project supported by the Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza (PNRR), MartinoRossi S.p.A. continues its path of innovation through the second intervention, dedicated to expanding the storage capacity of legumes using advanced controlled-atmosphere technologies.
The initiative is part of a broader program to enhance the production facility in Malagnino and aligns with the company’s strategic objectives of improving efficiency, environmental sustainability, and the quality of raw materials intended for the production of ingredients and flours for both human and animal nutrition.
Technological solutions for advanced storage
The project involves the construction of new storage systems based on next-generation airtight silos, designed to operate under controlled-atmosphere conditions. In particular, the internal environment of the silos is saturated with food-grade CO₂ in the absence of oxygen, creating conditions that prevent the development of pests and spoilage agents. This technological solution represents a significant advancement compared to traditional storage methods, as it enables raw materials to be managed in a safer, more controlled, and environmentally friendly way.

The introduction of controlled-atmosphere storage systems makes it possible to achieve several operational and quality advantages:
